Sunflower oil is widely in the food industry for frying and in salad dressings, but also to avoid clumping, as a glazing agent or to make products more unctuous. 

Our partner for vegetable oils is the German family-owned company C. Thywissen, one of the main producers in Europe. They make two high quality sunflower oils: the regular HL with a high linoleic acid content and the HO with a high oleic acid content. They also produce rapeseed oil and linseed oil.

The HO has distinct advantages over ordinary sunflower oil:

  • High content of 80% oleic acid (omega-9, C18-1)
  • Higher stability
  • Longer frying times
  • Longer shelf life of the finished product
  • Lower risk of rancidity
  • More neutral in flavour
  • The oleic acid may have more favourable effect on the cholesterol than linoleic acid
  • Virtually no trans fatty acids
  • Could replace palm oil in certain applications


Our sunflower oil is available in the following variants:

  • High Linoleic (HL)
  • High Oleic (HO)
  • Blend 80% High Linoleic (HL) / 20% High Oleic (HO)
